International School of Brindisi welcomed Col. Emilio Fiora of the Guardia di Finanza on campus for a school-wide talk dedicated to financial legality, civic duty, and the role one of Italy's most distinctive law enforcement bodies plays in protecting the economic life of the country. Speaking directly to students of every age, Col. Fiora introduced the work of the Guardia di Finanza in plain, accessible language — what the institution does, why it matters, and how each citizen is part of the picture.
The morning continued with a live canine unit demonstration on the ISB campus: trained sniffer dogs and their handlers showed students the precision and discipline behind one of the most recognisable elements of the Guardia di Finanza's operational work. For the youngest pupils, the demonstration was an unforgettable encounter; for older students, it opened the door to broader questions about training, partnership between officer and animal, and the everyday reality of fighting financial crime.
The visit of Col. Fiora was one of the highlights of Legality & Security Week and a powerful reminder of why ISB invites the institutions of the territory into the school in the first place. The complex idea of financial legality — taxes, fraud, the social cost of evasion — becomes something concrete when it arrives in the words of someone who lives it every day. ISB warmly thanks Col. Fiora and the Guardia di Finanza for the time, expertise, and care offered to the school's students.
